NODE has designed an undulating landscape installation based on water infrastructure for the local community in Qiaotou, Zhejiang Province.
The project was designed for Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture in 2019.
Qiaotou, meaning Beginning of the Bridge, is a typical Cantonese village surrounded with canals. During the rapid urbanisation, the canal has been replaced with closed conduit.
The studio proposed to implant an artificial canal to feature in the original canal. The site appears like a static river and terrain.
This project has been longlisted in the landscape project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
