Creative group Graf has converted a 120-year-old wooden building into a hotel in downtown Kyoto.
The building underwent a major repairment, while leaving its wooden framework untouched.
The studio abstractly interpreted a traditional Kyoto townhouse for the hotel, putting nature and light at the forefront of the design.
This project has been longlisted in the hotel and short stay interior project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
