Maana Homes has renovated a 100-year-old traditional Japanese townhome into a luxury guesthouse in Kyoto, Japan.
Inspired by the profound beauty and spirituality of Kyoto, the house is designed to expand the mind and highlight the importance of silence.
Blurring the lines between art and architecture, Maana Kamo is an expression of what austere harmony feels like to us. The juxtaposition between the old and new is a delicate, tasteful balance that reflects Kyoto's unique culture today.
This project has been longlisted in the house interior project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
