Designed by Bram Kerkhofs Design Studio, Nopper is a modular system for building cupboards.
The construction originates from research into building toy blocks from the 70s provided with a large amount of arranged studs into a grid. The studs and their corresponding intersections permit the blocks to clamp by pushing them into each other.
This principle has been simplified by attaching four or more studs on four corners above and below a shelf and clamping four loose legs between them. Playing with diameters and lengths creates various possibilities.
Endless formal constructions are possible to create your personal cupboard depending on your own specific needs.
This project has been longlisted in the furniture design project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
