Designed by Webb Associates, Obeya is a series of modular free-standing sub-architectural structures.

The benefits of increased communication and collaboration have established open-plan as the modern workplace landscape. When well implemented, productivity increases and employee satisfaction improves.

However, rising real estate costs and a necessity for flexibility have driven many to unsuccessfully adopt high-density layouts, creating uncomfortable and stressful conditions.

The structures have been developed to shape and define the open-plan office, whilst also addressing its key issues of acoustic and visual privacy.

A simple knockdown modular system, Obeya can be moved or altered as required to create spaces for different activities and settings.

This project has been longlisted in the workplace design project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
