Architect Kourosh Asgar-Irani has designed a collection of rugs for Rugture, in which the wool is dyed with natural plant colours.
Rugture deals with modern reinterpretations of classic oriental rugs, which are conceived using generative design methods for individual spaces and then hand-knotted in Persia and Anatolia in the traditional way.
The designs, which resemble nomadic patterns, are made to fit around the elements of a living space, including doors and furniture, and therefore made to be bespoke.
Using architectural 3D programmes, these antique-derived designs can adapt and morph to your room layout and spatial requirements in more than just size alone.
This project has been longlisted in the homeware design project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
