Sim-Plex Design Studio has converted a two-bedroom living space into a four-bedroom smart home.

Smart homes have become increasingly commonplace in Hong Kong in recent years, but they have been shaped into a futuristic form. According to Sim-Plex, this pre-conceived approach seems to have not explored the integration of smart intelligence into living.

The unique feature of the Smart Zendo project is that a large number of hardware smart functions have been combined. Most of the design uses natural materials to create a picture of the scenery.

Sim-Plex uses the concept of the Zendo, which integrates both traditional Feng Shui doctrine and smart technology, to create a zen spiritual space.

This project has been longlisted in the small interior category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
