Yrki Architects has designed new conference facilities and exhibition and reception spaces for Garðatorg's council.

Yrki Architects won the first prize in an invited competition for the interior design of the new conference facilities for the community of the city Garðabær. The competition was for an interior concept with flexibility and multipurpose spaces.

One of the design challenges was creating a space that can be broken down into smaller areas with more flexible use.

Vibrant common spaces promote both collaboration and privacy, and digitally connected conference and meeting rooms are easily reconfigured to facilitate meetings of different sizes and needs, exhibition spaces and reception spaces.

This project has been longlisted in the civic and cultural interior project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
