UENOA has designed a new office building for a structural screws manufacturer in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan.

The studio has designed an advanced space that expands the possibilities of wooden structures. Various spaces are covered by a roof of 18-metres of wooden large span trusses, so that the employees working in the office can see each other.

The practice has revived the natural environment and economic cycles by using local wood to make materials that incorporate new technologies such as CLT.

This project has been longlisted in the business building category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
