DaeWha Kang Design has designed immersive biophilic work environments with the aim of measuring the impact of design on employee wellbeing.

The studio created intricate structures from bamboo and brass within the hard, corporate environment of the Shard.

The findings from the initial pilot study showed workers in this environment were more calm, less anxious and less stressed than in the control space.

The designs are fully demountable and represent the studio's first foray into bamboo construction, which is a carbon-absorbing building material.

This project has been longlisted in the small workspace interior category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
