Skidmore, Owings & Merrill has designed a double-cantilevered residential and hotel tower in London.
It takes its name from the east-end neighborhood in which it resides – an area that it has helped transform into a revitalised destination.
The building, which is positioned as a gateway to Stratford, is among the first in a recent wave of high-rise residential towers throughout London.
Its design also creates an internal community, most prominently through three sky gardens carved out of its massing – a solution made possible by the complex synthesis of architecture and engineering.
This project has been longlisted in the housing project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
