Chartier Dalix has extended the University of Law's facilities in Paris, adding a library, lecture theatre, classrooms and offices.
The project called for elements of the University of Law-Paris I to be installed within the old buildings and in basement levels under the existing site.
The former Lourcine barracks are located in Paris' thirteenth district, and comprise a parade ground with accompanying military buildings erected in 1875.
The new additions include a 500-seat lecture theatre, 27 teaching rooms, a library, offices and two service apartments.
This project has been longlisted in the civic building category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
