Vaughan's Stream Reserve is a coastal park by landscape architects LandLAB, designed to improve connectivity to Long Bay, New Zealand.
The parkland is integrated with amenities and infrastructure that includes a new town centre, over 2,500 houses and public spaces.
The ecological restoration of Long Bay Village has improved navigation to the coastal parkland through boardwalks, bridges and pavilions. Wetland areas have been created as part of a low-impact design network and a stormwater treatment system.
A pedestrian path links the park spaces to the adjacent Long Bay Village. This has created access to the water's edge through timber decks, which are orientated to frame the surrounding landscape.
This project has been longlisted in the infrastructure project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
