Summary has designed a mixed-use building made entirely out of reinforced concrete prefabricated panels, slabs and rings.
The project forms a floating tabletop that covers a multi-service open space; and crowned by six tube-like boxes that form small housing units.
All of these elements perform at once as structure, insulation and finishing, containing a thermal layer inside and sparing additional cladding, exposing the concrete as the apparent material.
The concept and building processes – from the pieces' strict planning and production to their quick assembly on site – aimed to achieve time and physical-resource optimisation, configuring an effective answer to the contemporary need for immediacy and economy of means.
This project has been longlisted in the housing project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
