Iram Sultan Design Studio has designed a workplace for pharmaceutical company Zydus Cadila in Gujarat, India.

The studio's designs are inspired by the context and the client. The office floor for the chairman of a large pharmaceutical company was the context. Form was the starting point of the design process; inspired by the two most common pharmaceutical products: a capsule and a pill.

The practice ensured that all corners were rounded, receding arches to create a perspective that draws the eye.  The ceilings are dipped, curved and vaulted. Custom-designed furniture and art, a warm colour palette and bespoke flooring patterns all combine to form the workspace.

This project has been longlisted in the large workspace interior category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
