Public vote winner for civic building of the year: Maggie's Leeds is the cancer charity's twenty-sixth care centre in the UK and has been designed by Heatherwick Studio.

The care centre is located within the campus of St James's University Hospital in Leeds.

The charity provides free practical and emotional support for people with cancer, as well as their friends and families.

The 462 square-metre centre has been designed as a group of three large-scale planters, built on a sloped site.

Drawing upon the philosophy of Maggie's and the belief that great design can help people feel better, Maggie's Leeds uses several "healthy" materials and energy-saving techniques.
