Shortlisted for housing project of the year at Dezeen Awards 2020, Eden is a housing tower made from natural materials in Singapore, as a radical departure from typical glass and steel towers.
Natural materials have been used to craft energy-efficient homes, which feel connected to the city's tree-lined streets.
The homes benefit from cross-ventilation, natural light and the privacy of elevated living.
By pulling apart the square block of conventional towers and moving the services to the perimeter, each apartment has a large central living space, surrounded by smaller individual rooms and shell-like balconies, providing much needed respite from the Singaporean sun.
As the plants grow, they will cascade down the building, in harmony with the green city.
