Shortlisted for architectural lighting design of the year at Dezeen Awards 2020, Illuminated River is a project that aims to create a unified lighting solution across central London.
The project is a long-term art commission transforming the capital with a unified light installation across central London that connects, celebrates and captures the spirit of the Thames and its diverse communities.
The studio's collaboration with New York artist, Leo Villareal, combines art and architecture in subtly sequenced patterns of light across fourteen Thames bridges. In July 2019 the first phase of the project launched, lighting Southwark Bridge, Millennium Bridge, Cannon Street Bridge and London Bridge.
The four bridges are free to view, accessible to all and are viewed 60 million times a year by Londoners and visitors every year.
