Shortlisted for urban house of the year at Dezeen Awards 2020, MIA Design Studio has created a home in a nature-starved residential area of Saigon, adding greenery and natural elements to every corner of the house.
The Sky House location is characterised by numerous skyscrapers that surround the site, built close together, creating an uncomfortable scale relation between people and buildings and presenting difficulties when trying to design an "open" and "airy" project.
The owner of the building similarly wanted a space to enjoy inner-peace and calmness. The design team was determined to have a clear idea for the architectural plan, which aimed to promote a deep horizontal and vertical connection between human to human, and human to nature in this house.
