Shortlisted for hotel and short stay interior of the year at Dezeen Awards 2020, Trunk(House) is a new hospitality concept blending ultra-bespoke services with the comfort of the home environment.

Rented in its entirety, Trunk(House) is situated within a carefully restored ex-geisha house, with capacity to sleep four and to host up to 30 for parties.

The townhouse spans two floors, comprising a living room, open-plan dining room and kitchen, tearoom, traditional bathing area, landscaped mini-garden, and Tokyo's smallest disco.

The project's ambition to offer a culturally-enriching experience is reflected through both its offerings and the space itself, which weaves a dialogue between traditional and contemporary Japanese aesthetics.
