Rafael Viñoly
Acclaimed architect Rafael Viñoly founded his international namesake practice in 1983, and has since realised over 600 commissions from concert halls to airports, across the globe.
His practice aims to make meaningful civic contributions while exceeding the programmatic, aesthetic, economic and performance goals of the clients and users.
Rafael was born in Uruguay, and was a founding partner of Estudio de Arquitectura. He later emigrated to the US to be a guest lecturer at Harvard, before settling in New York City to found his practice. He has taught at architecture and design universities internationally.
Rafael is a member of the National Academy, Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and NY Chapter Medal of Honor recipient, International Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects and member of the Japan Institute of Architects.
