Avlakia House sits in-between two gorges in the Cycladic island of Antiparos, Greece.
Avlakia House advocates for an architecture that does not impose itself on its context rather emerges from it, as the sole solution to a multiplicity of questions. The house's form and deciding what to reveal and what not is a masterful balancing act between the human experience and the environmental and cultural sustainability of the broader region of the Cycladic archipelagos.
This project has been longlisted in the rural house category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
