Bećarac square is a museum building sunk into the ground with a gradually rising roof which provides an amphitheater auditorium.
The task was to create a contemporary museum which will tell the traditional heritage of Bećarac in a modern setting. Our aim was to create a new urban element to enrich the town.
The museum building is sunk into the ground and its roof is gradually rising up providing an amphitheater auditorium. From the top of amphitheater you behold the coloured, irregular surfaces which evoke Slavonian fields seen from above. This is not a museum with square, but rather a square with a museum.
This project has been longlisted in the landscape project category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
