Cardboard Ceramics is an example of how Store Projects is working to help teach the next generation of designers to think, work, and create in a more sustainable manner.
Guided by designer Ray Gonzalez Brown, 15-18 year old state school students designed and made a collection of cardboard ceramics, using Gonzalez Brown's "Lost Cardboard" process. The process prioritises using waste cardboard, otherwise destined for landfill, which in this case was sourced from retailers in the surrounding Coal Drops Yard area; giving it a second life.
This project has been longlisted in the sustainable design category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
