Longlisted in the emerging architecture studio of the year category of Dezeen Awards 2021, G Architects Studio, founded by Ryohei Tanaka, is an architectural practice based in Tokyo, Japan.

We focus on the tiny ideas and are good at raising them to the theme of the work. In particular, we have been conducting various trials and errors on old materials and ageing.

Our early work was renovating old buildings and doing small installations.

How to design using old buildings and materials. We are still experimenting many times in our office. It's like a chemistry lab somewhere. A number of failed mock-ups have been used in the next design.
