The exhibition L’art Plissé focused on the subtle art of pleating in a joint project between the Swedish design studio Folkform and the artist and fashion designer Roland Hjort.

The show was an investigation into how folding or pleating paper and textiles could create self-supporting structures and three-dimensional artworks. It presented a series of lamps whose forms were inspired by pleated fashion garments by Folkform, alongside 10 newly created artworks, some featuring folded surfaces, by Hjort.

Textile prints of Hjort's art works were also turned into pleated lampshades, giving them a dynamic, sculptural character.

This project has been longlisted in the exhibition design category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
