This client was looking for an architect to work on a challenging program: converting a 50 sqm apartment into a home for a family of five.
We started the design process with a precise diagnostic. This methodology is inspired by urbanism methodologies, where the analysis of the neighbourhood is used as a tool for design.
Several elements were highlighted and enabled us to develop strategies to place the full program.
We then based our design on theoretical typologies developed in the studio to design small homes: Verticalised activities, modularity, space perception, compact objects, border space programs and inside outside relationships.
This project has been longlisted in the small interior category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
