BoardGrove Architects were commissioned to design seating for the MPavilion 2020 season, responding to the need for "physical distancing" in times of pandemic.
MPavilion is an architectural commission that annually engages a leading architect to design a pavilion for Melbourne, which then becomes an innovative civic space for the community to enjoy a free diverse cultural program.
Stool Dolly considers how individuals can informally create separation through spatial means. Reminiscent of paper dolls connected by out-stretched limbs— each Stool Dolly can be positioned at "arm's length" or interlocked.
This project has been longlisted in the seating design category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
