SgnhA has turned an old, colonial French villa in Ho Chi Minh city into a two-story café with a rear garden.
Okkio is a specialty coffee shop located in a small alleyway in a bustling quarter of the Vietnamese metropolis. A lot of Ho Chi Minh city's existing architecture shows French influence. The project celebrates the city's history by creating multiple views towards the preserved French colonial villa. Okkio’s proudest success is the precious breathing space in the middle of the busy city.
This project has been longlisted in the rebirth project category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
