One/Split House is an interior renovation for a photographer's residence in Taiwan, an experiment testifying both "one" and "multiple" spaces in a living domain.
Inspired by camera diaphragms, a set of diverging frames are arrayed along a polarised space tensioned between a grey photography room and a warm wooden bedroom. Various programs are sandwiched in-between while strongly adhered to an overall unified space. Juxtaposing frames and pockets heighten the walk-through experience with a rhythm of light and shadow. The pure choice of material presents a minimalistic aesthetic for a photographer’s home.
This project has been longlisted in the small interior category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
