A plug-and-play luminaire palette was adopted to resonate the design concept of recyclable architecture.
The sales gallery was designed as a translucent pavilion that allows daylight in by day and becomes an iconic lantern by night. A soft, uniform and shadow-free glowing effect was the key aim.
Within a cavity inside the double-layered polycarbonate façade, linear light grazers were concealed. These provided maximum light throw and minimum light spills that might create shadows. The achieved soft glow baths the whole interior space. Dimming system enabled a smooth day-night transition. The project was completed within 5 months with all requirements achieved.
This project has been longlisted in the architectural lighting design category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
