Ori Seri serves to consciously minimise waste with radical hybrid design solutions in bio fabrication and generative design.
The unsustainable nature of the fashion sector is urgently in need of systemic changes, starting from the core of materials, to fabrication and consumption.

As a result of intense experimentation and development in a laboratory, the final outcome is a glass-like bio textile crafted from algae extract and silk cocoon protein (an otherwise wasted by-product of textile manufacturing). This sensitive, reactive bio textile material is environment-responsive and is able to fully biodegrade in water within 24 hours.

This project has been longlisted in the sustainable design category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
