Longlisted for Dezeen Awards 2021 emerging design studio of the year, Studio Raw Material is a rural design practice based in the desert plains of western India working together with the local community.
Founded by Dushyant Bansal and Priyanka Sharma, graduates from Royal College of Art, the practice is deeply connected with the place through material culture, people and vernacular practices, to create a sustainable network.

The studio is interested in investigating materiality in relation to social and economic forces that guide its abundance, wastage and preconceived notions of worth. The resulting work ranges across limited edition furniture pieces, sculptural objects, material investigations and spaces.

This project has been longlisted in the emerging design studio of the year category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
