The Tempera Series is inspired by the ancient tempera technique.

For this project, WKND Lab focuses on duck egg yolk discarded by the pharmaceutical industry. To make one pill of 2g, 1.5 duck eggs are required. The company extracts lecithin from the yolk and afterward, the rest gets discarded.

The discarded yolk contains proteins, minerals, and oils which allow us to colour, reshape and transform them into biodegradable raw materials with unique textures.

This project has been longlisted in the sustainable design category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
