This project is part of ongoing research on rural tourism which explores its ecologic and poetic nature.
Rather than starting from tabula rasa, the project acknowledges the ordinary agricultural terraces of the surrounding landscape as an infrastructural medium to perform changing activities over time. To construct such topographies, the project explores material possibilities from a local quarry, minimising waste: cut slabs, insert scraps, gravel and sand. In order to improve perceived humidity and ambience, rather than adding built surface, the project de-urbanises and increases drainage areas and greenery; which in turn is irrigated by rainwater collection.
This project has been longlisted in the landscape project category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
