Public vote winner for architectural lighting design of the year: Maggie's Leeds is the cancer charity's twenty-sixth care centre in the UK.

Drawing upon the philosophy of Maggie's that great design can help people feel better Heatherwick Studio built a home with natural materials in harmony with the user and the surrounding landscape.

The centre is located on the hospital grounds, but lighting was a key component to make people feel calm and at home as soon as they stepped through the doors.

The lighting was designed to be warm, comfortable, intuitive to use and to provide a visual connection between the interior and exterior space.
