Hall of Immortality is a funeral hall addressing the growing demand for venues where “contemporary” memorial service can be held, aside from the traditional Chinese rituals.
Believing in that experiencing or witnessing death may be one of the key moments in life that allows us to re-situate ourselves in as well as revisit our relationships with Nature, the space was created to be a quiet and introverted shelter for contemplation, a hideout from the noisy and chaotic environment, where one can focus on intimate emotions, senses and the fundamental elements of nature that are presented in the space.
This project has been shortlisted in the cultural building category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
