Pony is an agile alteration and modest addition to a 1960s apricot brick home.
The project is an accretion of small moments of delight that allow a family of six the ability to find a quiet moment alone or come together.
Pony sought to have maximum impact on the lives of the inhabitants with minimal effect on the amount of garden and outdoor space.
The design exaggerated the existing axial plan through a clip-on colonnade that slides up against the existing volume. The hardworking appendage acts as an elongated living space, offering moments to chill, storage space and increased garden connectivity.
This project has been shortlisted in the residential rebirth project category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
