Fox Johnston has designed a 1970s heritage-listed semi-detached house that is re-engineered for contemporary family life.
Keeping within the building footprint, Fox Johnston carved extra space and forged stronger connections to landscape and place, while maintaining the integrity of the original structure and material language. Re-thinking multigenerational living the house caters to flexible living.
Key interventions on the site included: restoration of the superstructure, connecting to landscape, create more space, provide multi-generational accommodation and softening of the geometry.
This project has been shortlisted in the house interior category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
