Veneno was born from mixing traditional Mexican cuisine and the distinctive character of the haciendas.
The monochromatic hue was based on the one achieved on plaster walls. It continues on the floors, ceiling and wood surfaces. The low walls work as partitions, generating distinct atmospheres in the table clusters.
The kitchen becomes the heart of the whole project, paying homage to the traditional firewood cooking methods.
As a contrast, a relief ceiling was designed adding mechanical patterns, resembling an artefact or machinery.
A unique space carved from the ground, honouring the flavours that emanate from it.
This project has been shortlisted in the restaurant and bar interior category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
