Nifemi Ogunro
Nifemi Ogunro is a Nigerian American designer based in Brooklyn, New York who creates Functional Sculptures.
Ogunro creates works of art that the human body can interact with. she uses photography, performance, and videography as a way to reframe the traditional narrative around design being Eurocentric and to hold space for this reflection.
She finds the human body to be fascinating - the way it moves, bends, folds, are all reference points for how she explores form. This mindset allows her to challenge how a chair, side table or even shelf looks and how it is interacted with.
