Rozana Montiel
Rozana Montiel is the founder and director of Mexico-based architectural firm Rozana Montiel | Estudio de Arquitectura.
The studio specialises in design, artistic re-conceptualisations of space and the public domain. working on a wide variety of projects at different scales ranging from the city to artefacts and micro-objects.
Winner of the Best Luxury Architect Studio in Mexico in 2021 by Luxury Lifestyle Awards. Montiel obtained an honourable mention for the International Fassa Bortolo Prize for sustainable architecture in 2021 for their Court project.
In 2016, Montiel was the winner of the Emerging Voices Award from The Architectural League of New York. In 2018, she won the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize granted by the Illinois Institute of Chicago and in 2019, she was the recipient of the Global Award for sustainable architecture granted by the Cité de l ’Architecture, Paris.
Recently Montiel published her book UH: Common Spaces in Housing Units. Later this year, she will participate in the second Architecture and Landscape Biennale Versailles Terre! Land in sight!
