Newtab-22 has created an inexpensive DIY air purifier that can be made in under an hour at home by reusing everyday household materials.
Air-It-Yourself addresses the notion that although air purifiers can greatly benefit physical well-being, they can also prove expensive as an addition to the home.
It provides a solution in the form of an open-source platform that encourages repurposing parts of household materials, to make an economical air purifier.
Air It Yourself includes an instructional manual designed for users to follow easily, alongside a curated sample list of DIY air purifiers made from materials available around the home. The instructions are designed to allow users to explore their own household materials and to encourage them to customise available parts.
This project has been longlisted in the sustainable design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
