Kogaa and the inflatables producers Kubicek Visionair have created a transportable venue that activates underused urban spaces by bringing them purpose and a vibrant public life.
The work responds to the need to alleviate climate change issues by tackling overexposed heat islands and lack of green and liveable public spaces.
It is designed as a circular structure with integrated seating and night-time lighting that allow it to be used night and day for events and public functions, as well as a place to meet, gather and rest.
The body combines two main parts: a structural foundation at the base, and an inflatable component at the top, with the upper ring designed as a large shading system that mitigates, cools, and delivers refuge from heat.
At night it provides illumination to dark and less safe urban corners.
This project has been longlisted in the installation design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
