Madmen Studio has designed the Apartment Dedicated to Meditation in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong.

This project has merged Japanese aesthetics and modern living style in order to create a spiritual living space with inner peace and harmony for an apartment in Tseung Kwan O – a peaceful place near the coast, around a 15-minute drive west of the most important commercial centre in Hong Kong.

This apartment is a special unit type and is quite rare all over the whole estate it belongs to. It's unique in its tall headroom space and features a large balcony space – while the headroom space is quite high, allowing for a larger area of dark colour material for the whole apartment.

The wooden ceiling in the living and dining area is a great example of this and is also one of the key design elements of the apartment that helps to express the main design theme and create the ideal atmosphere.

This project has been longlisted in the apartment interior category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
