Various Associates has created an indoor-outdoor gathering space for skateboarders to blend street culture and luxury in China.

The project is located in Shanghai, and serves customers of the brand with multiple functions for shopping, skateboarding, leisure, cafe and pop-up activities.

The space sits both indoors and outdoors at the boundary between culture and commerce, striking a balance between luxury and street. Indoors the focus is on a large screen relaying footage by the clothes display area with stands of varied heights and forms, while outdoors a marble skate park acts as a significant urban public space in a commercial setting.

This project has been longlisted in the small retail interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
