Crafting Plastics! Studio has created a series of foodware products with environmentally sustainable materials.

Biobastard Gastro Circular System is a series of foodware products made from 100% biobased and biodegradable Nuatan biopolymer blends, designed for closed-loop events, coffee shops and restaurants to offer a circular durable alternative to fossil fuel-based products.

Developed over several years and based on collaboration between material scientists, circular designers, experts on circular economy, events organisers and people working in waste management, the project looks at how to develop, optimise and implement bioplastic materials into both consumer goods and the wider system at large.

This project has been longlisted in the sustainable design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
