Far Architects has created a recreational hideaway on the southern coast of Lebanon inspired by the land's greenhouse structures.
The project is located in Damour, on agricultural land bound by fruit trees and banana plantations, as well as by the main seaside highway on the east and the Mediterranean Sea on the west.
The elegant steel structure pays homage to the neighbouring greenhouse’s architecture; a longitudinal shape with a curved roof and a simple grid construction. The use of steel columns and beams reveals the building’s layers, allowing the project to be implemented with minimal intervention and visual disturbance within the setting, but with a strong architectural identity nonetheless.
This project has been longlisted in the rural house category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
