Studio Noju has produced an open space design in a small apartment in Spain with character and flair.
The project is the result of a 60 square metre apartment renovation located in the historic neighbourhood of Triana, Seville. The apartment has been designed for a single woman, providing her with as much living space as possible.
The main concept of the project was to create a singular open space, but avoiding the idea of a 'loft apartment' as to not make it feel too empty or characterless.
A series of coloured niches create distinct areas that give the apartment its unique identity, using readily available roof ridges, known as 'cumbreras' in Spanish, to create the triangular wall texture.
This project has been longlisted in the small interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
