S.U.N. Design has created a bookstore in China with multifunctional spaces.

The project is set out as a customer experience to bring together an appreciation of books, coffee and records.

It encompasses several areas – the sandbox area sits under undulating roofs to create the feeling of a continuous cloud layer, while the corresponding water bar area sees books graded by colour hanging over the coffee bar island. Beyond, the leisure area gives way to the book bar area, where arched windows cast light on the volumes on display available for browsing at leisure.

This project has been longlisted in the large retail interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
